Parma will be the Italian capital of culture city by 2020

Parma is the Italian city that will be capital of culture in 2020. The Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities Dario Franceschini announced this. The city chosen by the jury chaired by Stefano Baia Curioni.

The candidacy of the city of the mayor Federico Pizzarotti revolved around thirty-two projects and the claim "Culture beats time". Parma has focused on production, construction sites, exhibitions and a synergy between public and private.
The decision - declared Franceschini - was taken unanimously. The Italian city of culture was chosen by a committee of seven experts appointed by the same ministry.

The Italian Capital of Culture 2018. Matera will be the European Capital of Culture 2019.
